Martha is a philanthropist, a social entrepreneur and fintech & payments professional who was born in the Kenya. Martha migrated to The Netherlands permanently, in 2008 where she lives to date. Martha is a dual citizen of The Netherlands & Kenya, but considers herself a world citizen.
Martha is a vocal champion and advocate for children, the vulnerable and women. She is also a strong advocate for equality, diversity & inclusion and dedicates a lot of time speaking at conferences and events about the importance and impacts of diversity & inclusion.
Martha is the Founder of European Women Payments Network (EWPN), the 1st and ONLY Pan-European network (community) dedicated to bringing together women from all EU/EEA member states, working in cards, fintech & payments.
In 2018, she Founder African Women in Fintech & Payments (AWFP), the 1st and only Pan-African network dedicated to bringing together women from all African countries working in cards, fintech and payments.
She is also the Founder & Chair to the Board for Beyond Innocence Foundation (BIF). A born philanthropist, Martha personally donated the land to the community in Taita, Kenya to build the 1st Safe House & Rescue Center for sexually abused minors aged between 0-16 years. She has continued to personally support the project financially with help from family, friends, colleagues and Rotary Clubs.
In 2019, Martha Founded Dali Spaces-Coworking Spaces for Women that are tailored and take into account the way women work & The Fintologist- a consultancy firm that works for financial service providers, banks, retailers, PSPs, regulators, issuers, acquirers and fintechs.
Martha is also Founding Board Member for Wadawida Education Fund (WEF), a private fund offering high school scholarships to students coming from poor families in Taita. This private fund was started in 2011 by Martha and five of her friends and is supported by members through monthly contributions.
Recently, she Founded The Grieving Migrant, an online platform that brings together people going through grief but living away from their families. This online group offers support to expats/migrants.
A dedicated Rotarian, Martha was President (2017/2018) for Rotary Club Utrecht International (RCUI), where she still is a member.
